-
Stunning Scenery: Imagine watching a breach against the backdrop of Madeira’s dramatic, volcanic coastline. It is not just about the marine life; it is about the breathtaking perspective of the island from the sea.
-
Expert Insight: Our trips are guided by knowledgeable marine biologists and experienced skippers who provide fascinating insights into the behavior and conservation of the species you encounter.
What You Might See
While every trip is a unique adventure, you have a high chance of spotting:
-
Resident Species: Common Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins, Atlantic Spotted Dolphins, Pilot Whales.
-
Seasonal Visitors: Sperm Whales (which can be seen year-round), Bryde’s Whale (Often seen from April to October)an occasionally Orcas, the majestic Blue Whales or Fin Whales during migration periods
While encountering whales and dolphins is highly probable, nature is unpredictable and there are rare occasions when we do not spot them; however, should that happen, we provide a complimentary second trip to ensure you have the best possible experience.
Plan Your Journey
We operate with two different operators. One of them works with catamaran and the other with speedboat (semi-rigid).
Both options guarantee sightings. Otherwise they give you a second trip for free. We have this policy because it is very rare not to find them; Madeira is geographically located on a migration route for many species, and we also have resident species that stay in our waters year-round.
Departures take place from Funchal.
“To see a whale in the wild is to see the true majesty of our planet. Come witness this wonder for yourself in the heart of the Atlantic.”

We also have our own spotters along the coast who scan the sea and contact the skipper to locate the animals more quickly. This operator has their own dedicated spotters who work exclusively for them, increasing the chance of having sightings without other companies in the area.
